Behold! The Dawn is Here

Gracious Father, lift those in need above the world and its distractions and blot out all that seek to come between them and You. Saviour Christ, make this possible and grant that their spirits may rise so that they may be free. Heavenly Father, mould them into the pattern that You would wish; grant that they may be strong for You, and that they may dare all things because of Your help and assistance. Christ, heal them, raise them, renew them, and give them that spiritual insight without which the way is dark indeed. Attune their hearts to the things of the Spirit and grant that the world may fade away from their physical minds and that they may meet at Your Feet in tenderness towards each other, with charity in their hearts and with adoration for Your Sacred Name. Make this possible, and help them to be what You would have them be. Pour down upon them all the spirit of quietness, communion, love and fellowship. Grant that they may follow on, greatly daring, fearing nothing, so that they may soon see the Light Beyond.
Give them this insight, this understanding, and then pain will be powerless to strike them again!
Throw off the shackles of the world, will yourself to open your heart and mind to that which is there, waiting for you to grasp. Bid the evil depart. Be free! “Know that I am God,” said the Master! In the Name of the Christ, your Saviour, stretch out and take that which lies on either side; the peace, the joy and the unity with the Spirit.
Silence, holy silence, is a great asset to the spirits. During the sacred hours you gather with others you must block out the outside world as much as possible. As yet, you have not sufficient control over your physical mind, and it means extra work for the spirits in holding the vibrations together and in seeing that the power is sustained throughout those sacred hours.
Your difficulties are gigantic but, by the grace of God, they have been overcome again and again, and will be again by His strength.
On earth, the children, because they do not know any better, sometimes do that which would make their whole hearts and minds shrink, and the shadows use that lack of knowledge in order to hinder and to hold back.
But there is light in your world and light in the world of the Spirit! Those who are of the Spirit, who have walked and talked with the Christ, listened to His words and tried to follow the Great Example. They knew then that everything which is not Light causes pain and distress and is but a mockery of the real.
Only in the great Silence of the Spirit can the Voice of the Most High be heard! Your mind is not yet attuned to that spiritual hearing which is your gift directly when the body is laid aside. It is your gift then, and it can be your gift now if you will prepare for it. Wait for it and listen for that Voice of All, the Voice which called upon God in His hour of need; which spoke words of comfort to His disciples and the world at large, and which day by day, year by year through all Eternity is speaking to humanity. Speaking but is not heard, for those who are earth-bound cannot hear.
Those who know God and those who do not should listen for the Voice of the Spirit; and you shall receive it. There are no barriers but those which humanity in their foolishness and blindness builds for themselves. There is nothing between you and God, your Maker. Nothing but the suggestion and the temptation of the evil ones who wish to keep humanity and God apart.
This is your mission. Try and break down that which has been built up by generations of wrong thinking; of turning the eyes to earth instead of the sky and seeking the answer to the riddle in the mind of the body, rather than the laying it at the Feet of the Christ and there finding the solution, the promise and the gift of understanding!
Spread this message to all who are in your life. Show by your faith and by your trust that God is by your side; ready to listen to your petitions, seeking to guide your life right and giving you the power to pass on this precious gift to others. God is your Father and you are His child. Does the loving Parent shut Himself up above in splendour and allow His children, His offspring, His creation, to fight through the darkness of the basement beneath? That is what many people say of your Creator. They put God up there, and leave humanity to burrow beneath the ground of ignorance. They preach in their churches that God is Love, and yet at the same time they make the gulf in between.
To the Father such a conception of Love is torture. To those in the spirit world that feeling of separation and loneliness puts them in every truth upon the cross, because you shut out the spirits and make it impossible for them to lift you into that brightness which should be your own.
You find it so hard to visualise God as your Father and sometimes the spirits seem nearer in sympathy. Now and again in the heart and mind of another you find that wonderful understanding which closes the door of desolation. You are gathered happy and safe inside, and your heart goes out in thankfulness that there should be one who understands! This is a gift from God in order to try and give you some small conception of the Great Heart which belongs to all. Can you get nearer to the real? Can you see that this little bit of God in another shows you, for your comfort, how God regards your life, your struggles and disappointments? You should be able to, but the contending forces are great, terribly great! They are not fighting against only you, but against the God of all, against the Christ Who died so that humanity might live. They are fighting against the Redeemer of the World, the Uplifter from all that hurts; fighting and striking that which is Love itself.
Think it over, pray over it, and you shall find that the darkness will give place to light, that the dawn will come because God is stronger than them all. But you must realise first and be certain that He never fails, never changes, and that His Love flows on like a great river on either side of the pathway of your life, protecting you from the enemy on the opposite bank and keeping you straight on the course that you must follow. When you have given everything into His loving custody sorrow can touch you no more, because of the gladness within, the certainty of His Love and that He shall not change.
To the spirits, as you can imagine, the Resurrection covers a much wider field than that of which the Christ was the symbol; the symbol of all that inner meaning which lay in the word “resurrection.” He was the great Example and, as with everything else, took upon His Sacred Person the responsibility of representing that in its highest and most complete form.
To you, those last days when the Christ was with you are known in detail, so far as the records supply. There are few who wish to love the Master who can read without a thrill how He appeared first to one and then to another, demonstrating that death, as death, does not exist.
Such is the mind of humanity that had not Your Lord suffered in so terrible and so public a way, the fact that He was seen after his burial would have been lost in the flight of time. In the physical world it is necessary to demonstrate a fact in some explicit and dramatic way, otherwise, with the shallowness of the physical mind, yesterday’s events are forgotten in the distractions of today.
Those incidents of such variety in the life of Your Lord did not take place solely to show Him up against a background of materialism. They were not independent or individual to the Christ alone. God is so universal; His conceptions of what affects the whole world are on so gigantic a scale that it would have been impossible for Him to have selected experiences which had no bearing, except as example, to be worked out by His Son. There is not one incident in the life of the Child, of the developing Man and of the Messiah, which is not indicative of humanity as a whole and of the purification and the sanctification of physical life.
Not only did the Christ rise again to show His devoted disciples that He had not deceived them and that He was God made Man, but it was to demonstrate to all what was, is, and will be, so long as physical life is ordained; that the spirit rises again in glory, emancipated from the flesh, free, made perfect in the image of God, and that in the end all will be family to the Christ Himself.
Do you see how like to God this was; the absolute selflessness of His mission on earth? It was not to demonstrate the power in Himself, His Godhead, and the virtues which He worked into His being, but to bring comfort to all; showing what God holds out to humanity to rise to! This is the truth, the truth that the Christ came to demonstrate so perfectly! Death cannot touch the spirit. The body is but a garment and the spirit is imbued with power to come again and again to the earth to minister to those who are in want, to hold converse with them and to be a companion; a helper and a guide. The Christ showed the way and only He could have done it, because humanity forgets so soon. The Cross cannot be buried. It is forever across the world and even the careless and the evil are forced out at times to see it, although they may shrink from it with reluctance.
But what does the Cross represent? Not death, but Life; that Life which was demonstrated to those who loved the Saviour. The one indicates the other. Death is but the door to life, and if the faith had been there, centuries ago, it would have been shown shown to humanity in all its wonder, its power and its comfort. The Christ was the forerunner because humanity was blind, and His example is but an illustration of what is possible to all who have love for humanity in their hearts. That is the link, that is the focusing power. To those who have passed out of the body who wish to render service to those they have left behind this great gift is there, as freely as was shown by the Christ. There to be taken, to be used, and to be passed on so that others may do likewise when their turn comes.
God, being your Father, does not set Himself aside from His great family. But, as a Father should, He shows His children what can be done and what they can do in time, if they will learn and follow His example.
It is all so simple really, so natural. There is no gulf, no long bridge between you and your Maker which sometimes He designs to cross and sometimes you, yourself, struggle to cross. It is not like that in any sense at all. He is your Father, in your home, of your home, in your heart and you in His. So it should not be hard for you to gather something of that great Love and understanding. When things go wrong do not feel that He is displeased with you and that He shuts Himself away from you in disgust. Instead, just know that He is your Father and He will understand! If that feeling were there the shadows could strike you no more; as it is just that feeling that they are fighting tooth and nail to prevent.
Let this Eastertide have a special message for everyone. Those who have tried and seem to have failed, those who have lost heart in trying, and even also for those who have never tried at all, should take comfort. Be assured that the Father does not spurn them. He only waits for them to turn to Him, when He will gather them to His side and renew that which has grown somewhat dim. He will give that which, so far, has been absent; gifts of faith, of trust and hope. Once these are their own the link between will be so strong that instinctively they will turn to their great all-knowing Parent, and in His love find rest and peace for evermore.
To those who have watched and waited during the long nights of earthly experience, the words “Behold The Dawn Is Here!” have a most reassuring sound. It is the same as with passengers in a boat on the high seas. Storms and winds and treacherous waves have surrounded them and buffeted them and almost killed the hope within. And then a cry rings out! He who has been the look-out cries: “The dawn is here,” and with the rising sun the tempest calms and life is re-established once more in the way God would have it be.
Do not be deceived. The anguish of physical life, the dangers which best it, and the enemies which surround you are not God’s will. They are the work of the evil forces who are out to destroy you. God’s will is that His children should live under the Light and not wander in darkness; that the loneliness of the desert should be replaced by the Beautiful City where love abounds on either side. Sorrow, suffering and betrayal are not God’s will. Only the gifts of harmony, peace, joy and happiness are linked with the Saviour.
Sorrow, suffering and betrayal are not God’s will. Only the gifts of harmony, peace, joy and happiness are linked with the Saviour.
You have been told thousands of times to cast care aside and lean on your guide. This shows that care is not of God, but is the burden which falls back on to the earth to which it rightly belongs.
Go on with renewed faith, with restored reassurance. God is a God of joy and peace as well as of all-compassion and understanding. Set your staff one point higher up, cling to it, and do not rest until you stand by its side. Upward and onward you must go, companioned by those who are fighting and struggling with you. That must be your thought. Never alone, never deserted, never left to your own strength. The staff of faith is in front; plunge it into the hill above you and it will draw you up forever and ever more!
Do not be disheartened, and do not be dismayed. He, being God over all, must triumph over evil. Why then are you fainthearted? Gather up your weapons and follow the Voice that calls. Do not ask what this means or what will work out. Follow the Voice and that obedience shall bring you into the land of your heart’s desire; when all will be made plain and clear and the dark door of memory will be closed forever and no power of evil shall ever be strong enough to open it again. It shall remain closed, shutting out all the weary hours of disappointment and pain and sorrow. In front there is not only the dawn but the full day too! The shining sun of God’s Love will renew you and bring into blossom the seeds sown in all those yesterdays and make for that completeness which your spirit longs for in a way impossible to understand.
Bless you in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Bless you with peace, with unity, and with harmony with Them all. God grants that the blessing may be felt, held and maintained; the blessing which is His free gift to everyone and the blessing which no one can take away, because it is of the Spirit. Amen.
